The Houston Chapter of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) invites you to join us on Thursday, February 11 for our monthly meeting.

 

Reagan Sirmons will lead a discussion on how the actions of a few had consequences for many as the money market and credit market froze in 2009. Specifically he will provide:

 A) an insider's look at the reasons for and implications of the credit freeze

 B) reasons for the massive government responses and their effectiveness

 C) the brewing competition for capital in the oil and gas industry

 D) key implications for oil and gas mergers and acquisitions activity in 2010 and beyond

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Reagan Sirmons is a Senior Vice President at FCA Corp. where he also serves as the Chairman of the Investment Committee.  He specializes in macroeconomics as they impact investment decisions and directly manages large portfolio of investment capital for clients.  He has served on numerous corporate and charitable boards and was a founding stockholder/director of two companies which were later listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Within his career, he has participated in numerous mergers and acquisitions deals. Prior to FCA Corp,. Mr. Sirmons was an Executive Director- Investments at Oppenheimer & Co., for 10 years and served as Vice President of  Noble Royalties Inc., where he was responsible for the development of the firm's institutional client relationships related to the acquisition of oil and gas royalty interests.

 

Mr. Sirmons is a native Texan.  He graduated from the University of Texas in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Government.

 

REGISTRATION:

 Be sure to provide the name of each person in your party with how you would like it to appear on his/her name tag (please email all additional attendee names to houston.iaee@gmail.com). The Chapter has a 48 hour cancellation policy. Registration closes 24 hours prior to the meeting. All walk-ups will be assessed a $10 surcharge.

 

LOCATION:

The meeting will take place at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Houston Branch. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for networking. Lunch will be served at noon. If you have any special dietary requirements, please be sure to list them when registering. The presentation will be followed by a brief Q&A session.

Annual dues are $25 and entitle you to the members' discounted registration rate, the right to vote on Chapter business, elect officers and the satisfaction of joining Houston's premier professional and educational forum for energy economics. Membership in the Houston chapter is separate from  USAEE membership.
